the day in pictures

Saturday, D. and I celebrated our 12 year "going steady" anniversary... I can't really tell you the day we were married. It was in June sometime 6 years later, but it was less eventful for us than the day D. came over and really shyly asked if "I wanted to make it official?"  Young love is so much more innocent and carefree-so we've always celebrated it instead.

It was a few weeks late but it was our first chance to actually have the weekend to ourselves.  The plan was no plan. We decided to let the day unfold and take us where it wanted to. It ended up taking us near my campus-- to explore the area as tourists and less as the worker bee that I usually am.

My other plan was to try to capture the entire day in pictures... I got about half way there.

9:00 a.m.
10:00 a.m.

11:00 a.m.
11:30 Jose Marti Memorial... it's technically Cuban soil and only open for about 3 hours on weekdays.
The first cigar factory in Tampa
12:00 p.m. Working here makes me seriously want to start smoking cigars.
12:30 p.m. Best Tacos in Tampa.
1:30 p.m.
2:00 p.m. Dogwoods in full bloom tell me its spring!
The Italian Club.
3:00 p.m.
4:00 p.m.

  1. Ain't love grand! i'm going to have to read that book now you know. The grass you have there (where you are reading) looks like the kind of grass they have in Brisbane. is it really scratchy and unpretty?

  3. The boy and I celebrate the beginning of our relationship, rather than our wedding day, too! I feel it is sort of, kind of, a little bit more important that we met than the fact that we signed a legal document...
    Happy anniversary!
Love love love that passage from My Life in France. I just got another copy (after giving my first to my mother.) Time to reread!
