I've tried to teach myself on and off the last few years how to crochet... I would learn the basic stitches, attempt a scarf, put it away and return again months later to realize I'd forgotten how to do everything. This Christmas I made a concerted effort to re-teach myself, and much to my surprise actually completed several pieces (which became Christmas gifts).
To keep the ball rolling I'm toying with some of these lovely free patterns I found online....

well done! I'm scared to try crochet. I don't really know why.
ReplyDeletethat little beret would be perfect on you, actually all of these are dang cute. i'm with you on crocheting...i have this giant blanket i worked on occasionally over the years until i finally gave up. i don't know how to do anything but the basic stitch and turn the corner. i can't even make a curve but i know it would be easy to learn! good luck. let us see how your projects turn out!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. I would love to learn, yet find it very intimidating. Good on ya. I can't wait to see more. What else is going on in your life, hon?
ReplyDeleteI have recently decided I am crocheter instead of a knitter. I love it! Thanks for the beret pattern. Maybe I will be brave enough to try it soon? Maybe.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you don't live here, my favorite bar has started a knitting night the first Tuesday of the month. Hello, that's tonight! It's way fun to craft in a group... and alcohol. Yum yum double yum.
